Was doing OC today. Pulled filter off, saw these two little fellas sitting looseb in middle of pipe. Looks like like a broken bracket on middle of pipe as well
Obviously a new standpipe is in order. This happen to my 2005 years ago and I believe was the cause of my pump failing. I think the broken tang got into the pump or something because it was less than 15 miles after I changed my oil and filter when I found the pieces missing it quit.
Do what you can to recover the broken pieces.
Well the torks fastner is out, but that thing is not budging.Top sheared off when I twisted. I have not gone all KingKong on it yet. I still have plenty to grab to twist but feels
like I may break the plastic. Any tips?
You could loosen the 2 torx screws that secure the hold down for the valves in the bottom. If you have to, remove the housing. Then it should come free.
Heres a pic. The circle is the bolt you already removed. The 2 with the arrows just loosen them and it should twist out. You can remove them and the hold down but DO NOT DROP ANYTHING DOWN THE HOLE!
I removed the fastener on your left arrow. So I need to reinstall that one loosely and remove the one in your circle?? If you look at my pic down the housing, I removed the fastner next to the "gold piece".

I can't see anything in your pic. But you must remove the screw where the circle is in my pic. That's the screw that stops it from turning and coming out.
