Flat tow Expedition
I have a 2000 Expedition Eddie Bauer AWD. The Starter went in it and left me 5 miles from home. I flat towed it home at about 30 mph, and it was -24c out with snowy, slippery roads. When I got home I found out that the manual says to not tow it wheels down at all.
What damage can I expect?

If it was in neutral and you only towed it 5 miles I wouldn't expect any damage at all. They may be worried about yankin the bumper off or strain on the steering gear, or legality or something. Not everybody is very good at controlling their vehicle when it's being pulled down the road. Ford wants to be able to say "we told 'em not to do it ! " in court ....
