thanks guys.. John I had looked at Smart parts today for arm rests and never noticed the tab for accent trim... just what I'm looking for
Charlie, thanks for the pic.,,.. that's very similar to the color I picked out but without all the fancy work.. mine will be a little more subdued

I used the smart strips on my running boards
for my interior panels I used a product called Custom Chrome
Pinstriping Tape, Auto Trim & Door Edge Guards | Cowles

that's pretty much what I want on door panels but different pattern. do they glue on ?? screw on ?? and did you have to allow space for them in the material of the panel

The smart strips on the running boards bolt on, there is a set screw and nut every 8 inches. The strips in the door panels is backed with 3M tape
