Dually tires, rims, and rotating tires
First time owning a dually (2016 F-350 SD Lariat). The front and rear outer rims are stock alloy rims. Inside rears are steel. If I want to rotate the tires, I've been told I have to break the beads and remount the tires on the rims - at least if I want to rotate all six. I'd rather just get six new rims that match. My question is: are the inside rear rims the same as the fronts, or are they different? Thanks.

The inside are steel and not the same as the fronts. I took the aluminum wheels off my truck and replaced them with OEM steel wheels. The steel wheels only add 60 pounds to the weight of the truck. The aluminum wheels weight 27 pounds each and the steels are 42 pounds each. I can now do a true rotation of the wheels/tires without breaking down the tires/wheels to rotate them.
To me, the OEM grey steel wheels look ok on my 2015 Lariat.

I did the same thing on a few of my trucks including my current 2016 F450 , steels give you the option to rotate all the way around including the spare if you like .
If you buy accuride wheels they come in black and were a Parts supplier to Ford until they moved there steel wheel devison to Mexico and and they dropped both Accuride and Alcoa to China ... That really bugs me , uninformed buyers think they got Alcoa wheels and guys selling them fail to read the stamp on the Aluminums ... " Made In China "

I bought 3 extra Stock alloy rims to solve this problem. I replaced the steel rims with alloy rims for my two inner and my spare.
I can rotate any tire into any position.
to take care of the scratch problems, I bout the plastic gaskets that go between the rims and hubs.
I have 10 bolt hubs and there's plenty of tire lug and the rims are still hub centric.

I used to just rotate the outer rears and the fronts, Ford says you cant but the only reason is that only the opposite sides of the front and rear alloys are polished, I just polished both sides and you couldn't tell the difference. Now I am changing all my wheels to steel as I have had 2 of the 4 alloys break through a spoke within the last 5K miles and don't want to take a chance with the other 2.

I rotate the front wheels left to right, right to left.
I rotate the rear wheels left to right and right to left.
Rotate rear wheels forward: You can, but it would show abrasive marks on your nice polished aluminum wheels from the dually mount.
To avoid that, you would need to unmount and remount each tire going forward. I use the rotate pattern on the far right (Alternative Normal Wear)
