HRTKD's CEL Thread
This is my thread to chronicle the Check Engine Light issue that has been going on since November 2018.
My first encounter was at Elk Camp where it was as cold at 10° F. I checked with another 6.7L Superduty owner and he said that engine gets kind of pissy in the cold and just ignore it. I ignored it until I got back into town and let the dealer check it out. CEL wasn't flashing.
First fix: Dealer said it was an EGR sensor. That made sense since the trouble code was EGR related.
Fast forward to February 2019. Within 30 miles after a regen on a 55° F day the CEL comes back on. I didn't pull the code this time.
Probably should have.
Second fix: Dealer said it was a DPF sensor. Not in stock so I'll get the truck back tomorrow.
Hopefully this resolves it but my fear is that they are fixing the symptom but not the root cause (whatever that may be).
I'm was using PM-23a during both CEL encounters. I'm also using Better Diesel Fuel Borne Catalyst (FBC), similar to Enerburn.

So far, the CEL has simply been an annoyance.

Technician found code P244A (Diesel Particulate Filter Differential Pressure Too Low Bank 1).
The sensor was replaced with HC3Z-9J760-F under TSB 18-2371. Apparently they replaced the sensor with the wrong version last time it was in. I thought it was an EGR sensor they replaced last time. I know that it was throwing an EGR related code last time. Whatever. As long as the CEL doesn't come back.
