A while back, the "Check Engine" light came on in my '97 Expy XLT. A trip to my repair shop indicated the trouble code was "402T" (I believe that was it), which indicated trouble with the EGR sensor. My mechanic checked the various EGR components and found them to be in fine shape. He concluded the sensor is bad and needs replacing.
Does anyone know the part number and location for the EGR sensor? I have a friend at a GM (ugh) dealer who can usually get me parts, and I can generally "hang parts" without getting into too much trouble. Also, I notice that- after long road trips (which I make frequently), the light will sometimes go out. After a few days of in-city driving, however, it re-lights... curious.
BTW, some time ago I mentioned my ongoing problems with the Air Bag sensor light blinking code "52." Turns out my work on the ignition switch fixed the problem, but the light needs to be reset by someone with the proper equipment (disconnecting the battery does not clear the code). Nevertheless, the advice to "take it to a mechanic" was well founded and heeded- thanks!
Actually, now that I look at the printout, the code was P0401. Does anyone know the location and part number of the sensor related to this trouble code?
