There were some V10 headers for sale in the market place on this site. I don't know if you have access to it yet since you only have 1 post. Check out the market place if you can. Might be able to score that set for cheap.
I have had a set of Banks headers for about a year and they are great. More torque across the entire engine rpm range from idle up to 5000 rpm. You do not realize how restrictive the factory exhaust manifolds and factory y-pipe (actually a t-pipe) are until you remove them, look closely at the manifolds and then drive with the headers.
Yes, the Banks are expensive and can be a pita to install with the broken exhaust stud issues but are well worth the effort. No noticeable increase in mileage.
As many have stated on here, 4.30 gears and a quality set of headers really improve the V10 performance with no hit to reliability.
Long tubes are the best. Banks, Doug Thorley then Hedman. The Hedman's being the last choice because of collector issues. Skip the Flowmaster if you haven't got it yet. Poor flow and drone.
I have a 02 v10 automatic trying to figure out what kind of headers to use with a flowmaster exhaust
Do you have the Flowmaster exhaust yet? Depending on what exactly you are looking to have it sound like there may be better options on the exhaust.

Really? What brand of headers are you running on your V-10? And how exactly have they been a PIA? My Banks long tubes have been trouble free for years now, never even needed to be retorqued following installation, yeah dealing with a few broken studs was a PIA but those needed to be addressed either with or without the headers. And on my rig there was a noticeable performance improvement, especially noticeable under high loads like towing the 12K TT up highway grades.

Again, not in my personal experience, the Banks headers supplied a nice bump in performance across the entire RPM range. Another EX forum member reported that her V-10 EX when all stock wouldn't chirp the tires when hammered from a stop, after she installed her Banks headers (and I believe Power Pack exhaust?) she was able to smoke em up off the line. That doesn't sound like any kind of bottom end lose.
I kept my factory 3" mandrel bent exhaust piping and cat when I installed the Banks headers and Y pipe, later I added an Aeroturbine 3030XL (pretty much the same as the Jones muffler and the XL denotes a built-in resonator which keeps it a little quieter and less raspy) which gives it a nice rumble (for a V-10 ) without any drone. I'm very happy with this setup on our dedicated tow rig EXcursion.
Here is a video that compares the factory muffler to the Aeroturbine 3030XL, both ways are with the Banks headers and Y pipe.
Here is another video from a different EX forum member that did a cat delete and the Aeroturbine 3030 (without the built-in resonator "XL"), as you can hear it has much more bark to it.
There is no exhaust header, no matter what engine make and size, that is going to take a “chirp the tires” vehicle and turn it into “smoked ‘em up off the line”.
