I love it,i had two other expeditions before this ,and i like this a lot more. Its a 2000 limited w/ v10,my dad owns a car dealership, and he picked it up at a auction so i got it at cost.It has a few problems but nothing that cant be fixed, ive been a mechanic for 13 years so its just a matter of affording the parts.Heres the list of what i have to fix,1. the speedometer sticks.(needs a need speedometer head) 2.both right side door lock actuators dont work 3.tires are lumpy ,i already aligned the front end,its a shame cause there is a lot of tread left on the kelly safari awrs.Someone put 285-75-16s on,which i love the look of but ive checked into other tires and there arent as many options for that size.im fond of the BFG long trails but they arent available in that size.Im thinking Good Year AT/S but they may be too agressive.oh well thanks for letting me vent.I love my excursion.

Congrats on the purchase! Hope she treats you well.
As far as tires go, look into the Bridgestone Dueler Revo A/T's. Can't go wrong with this tire -- great ratings at www.tirerack.com. The price is real nice, too.
Congrats on your new X! You could also get a set of Michelin LTX M/S. They're great for driving around town and on the freeway. They also give a smoother ride and last longer overall. I haven't had a problem with them since I got them. The type of tires you choose should suit your driving habits. Is your X 4-wd or 2-wd?

Do you plan on going off-road every now and again? In addition to the Bridgestones suggested by haroutd, you could also take a look at a set of BF Goodrich tires. Here's the link:
Do some research and see if you find what you want or like. These are just suggestions we're not trying to force you to buy a set of tires. But I hope this gives you a push in the right direction according to your needs.

Thanks again, the Bridgestones look very nice but i would perfer an american made tire,im just funny like that.i assume the bridgestones are japanese tires? At the shop i work at we sell a lot of BFGs ,Good years ,and Kellys, and i like the bfgs best i think.i had the long trail t/as on my expedition and loved them, but they dont come in a 285-75-16.I realize thats not the right size for the truck but thats whats on it and they look great.so im stickin with it.im thinking BFGs all terrian ,or maybe good year ats.thanks again

I hope you're enjoying you're X thus far. I have a question though. How well have those BFG Long Trails held up under the weight of your X?
Congrats on your purchase. I recently purchased a 2000 X V10 4x4. I read on the forumn that you can get a set of actuators for around $150. Don't ask me where, do a search on the forumn. The first things that you should do is buy a set of Bilstein shocks from www.bestforeignparts.com for $40 a peice they are normally $75-80. At the same time install a Hellwig anti-sway bar. It is around $153 to your door. I got mine from summitracing.com. The are the BEST UPGRADES you will ever do.
As for tire size, stick with the 285's. Your speedometer will be right on with them as the X's are 2.5 mph too fast with 265's.
