I have Glowshift Max Tow gauges for EGT, Trans temp, Oil temp, Coolant temp and boost. I was thinking of replacing the boost gauge with a Glowshift fuel pressure gauge and adding Banks Data Monster as it can display up to 8 gauges at once. I would use it for the less critical things and data logging. I have an old Ipad mini I could use with an OBDii solution like torque pro, however it seems that an android tablet is the way to go here. I like the idea of the Banks being in the dash and out of the way. Ipad/android would have a bigger screen but then I have to deal with mounting it. X will be dragging a rock crawler to trail heads on forest service roads. This bouncing may prove cumbersome for the tablet solution. Opinions on the Banks vs tablet

I have an Android head unit, it gets used to view a gauge suite via TorquePro far more than it gets used as a stereo, GPS, backup cam, or phone interface.

Did you dig deeper into this? Your thread has been tugging at me since reading about the iDash DataMonster. I have been interested in this too, but they do not have a non Can-Bus gauge out yet, the current iDash gauges are for Can-Bus systems, which started around 2008, maybe a little sooner. The 2001 7.3 definitely does not have Can-Bus. They say that they will probably have an iDash non Can-Bus released mid to late summer 2019.
I called Banks and they said a 7.3 version is in development. They are hoping to release in 90 days but will probably be like 6 mo. I am going to leave a gauge spot for it open in my 650 panel. I will have a CB and Ham radio to mount as well so I doubt the tablet will fit in.

That's the response I got from them too. The readily available values/readings present at the OBDII will be read by the iDash, they told me that other values/readings that require them to write the software to find a path to those is an unknown. So if you want readings on fuel pressure, oil pressure, Ect, it may require additional sensors with their hub to interface with the iDash. My takeaway was the Isspro gauges I recently installed should suffice.
I have all the main ones covered. EGT, oil temp, trans temp, coolant temp, fuel pressure and boost. Would be nice to see HPOP and a few of the duty cycles. I’ll still leave a hole for rhe idash. In the mean time I have a ipad mini and a galaxy s6 I can use with torque pro. If torque can see them I would imagine an idash would.
