Does anybody have any ideas on stopping water spots? i have very good well water, but it does water spot, im thinking of trying some in hose cartridge filters or sumthing of the sort.
RV filters and water softeners aren't enough, you need to use de-ionized water to avoid spots. CR Spotless makes a nice system but it's pretty expensive. In my case I have no choice but to buy the system and refill the materials as needed.
your buying a ceramic coat package from a dealer ?
Yes the dealer said its $700 to do the bumper and hood in clear bra and $1400 for ceramapro 2 coats (2 coat thing had me confused). The truck is currently ordered and waiting on it.
They arent doing it someone else is. Part of that cost is transporting the vehicle. But most of it is Im busy...
I do want to ask the person doing it their method though.

Some Ceramic Coating you can put on multiple layers of it. The clear bra has to go on first before the Ceramic Coating. If they are using Ceramic Pro, i think you have to be an authorized user to apply it. Which means you have to be certified. I have a good friend who's a pro detailer who uses CQuartz Finest Ceramic Coating. It is really good and we will be doing my truck in March. One thing to note, the prep before Ceramic Coating is KEY. If not done properly it won't turn out good. I wouldn't let the dealer do it, its WAY ABOVE their paygrade. And i will tell you, your paint WILL have to have paint correction done prior. Just cause its new doesn't mean it doesnt need it. It will. So yes, i would talk to them and see their process and find out all the details on the process they are doing.
They charge more for a “lifetime” coating and less for a single coating (less than the $1400).
”Lifetime” commitments make me cringe some, but would less than 2 coats not get me the 5 years?
it will depend alot on the coating as for the time it lasts. I don't know much about Ceramic Pro. All i know is my guy that uses CQuartz says its crap. But again, take it for what its worth. He is certified to use CQuartz, so of course he has to say that. But, $1400 won't get you a lifetime coating. None of it no matter how much you pay is a lifetime. Ceramic Coating needs upkeep. Now if their lifetime coating means they will do it again and again every 5 years for a one time $1400 charge, then heck ya do that!
I checked the email and he said its $1800 for 5 coats and lifetime.
Worth it?
Wonder if this guy goes out of business if Ceramic Pro will cover it..
5 coats in one process? I cannot comment on if that is good or not as i do not know. I am curious what the detailer means by lifetime. I would ask that question to them first.
It's spelled out pretty well on their web site. The coating has to be cared for, water spots fixed quickly, and you need to go back in at least annually for maintenance.
Doubt I’ll want to go back in every year especially if they charge me. If its free might be worth it for a free detail. I didn't see this on their site, where was that?
