Which wax for original paint?
My money has started to dry up a bit and I will be spending my remaining cash on some creature comforts. Can anyone recommend a wax that will make the original paint look good while I round up some more play money? I still remember as a kid some yahoo in Wal-Mart peddling some wax. Year later that spot was rusted. Don't want that to happen to my baby, lol.

Most ( WAX ) will take a hole lot of ( Paint ) Off , one trick I used to use is wash it with
a bucket an Water and add ( ZIP WAX ) to the Water .it sure makes it SHINE with out
Removing any Paint ! Every time I would wax my old orange truck, the Rags would be
Orange ! And the Paint getting thinner every Wax Job ! Just my 2 cents .

The original paint on these trucks was acrylic enamel.
If the paint is faded, there are several things that can be done to bring the shine back...it all depends on how much work you want to do.
1) Wash first, then use DuPont White Polishing compound, apply with a damp sponge. Rinse out sponge frequently in clean water.
When it dries, wipe off, then use a good quality carnuba wax WITHOUT silicone.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
For the absolute masochist that loves work, take #600 wet/dry sand paper, use it wet, and sand the paint, then either rub it out by hand with that white Dupont stuff, or use a buffer.
Be careful on the hood and the roof, by this time, the paint will be thin.
