Well I lucked out this time. It was just fuel filters. I actually had planned on changing them yesterday and ran out of time. I had planned on doing maintenance when I got back to Texas, but my trip got extended. Still, I only had about 7,000 miles since my last Mike Pence. I think I got some crappy gas up here. Anyway I just tried fuel filters first and that immediately sounded all the smoke went away and it rides just fine again

I misstated. I, of course, only change fuel filters every other oil change. So this one failed with about 12,000 miles. I change fluids the first chance I get after 5000.
I was surprised how much smoke was coming out to have just been the filter. Had no real expectation the filter would fix it, but wanted to eliminate that possibility.
