Duh. Yeah, I missed something. I like where his filter is too. But I want one after the fuel pump as well.
Same for me Mike....
I want to keep the one before the pump and I did get a replacement "screw-in" filter that goes into the carb.....
One of the ****** Jeeps I restored had one of the clear glass filters with the ceramic type insert inside. I always liked those because I just thought they looked cool.
Yep, I'm afraid so..... I know it is like shooting on a coat of "spray-on tan" with your britches on BUT, I just couldn't handle opening the hood and not being able to find any bolt heads because of DD nests.... One thing lead to another and before I knew it.... it was painted....
Next, I have to get under the engine and clean up that oil pan.
I like those too. I had a Holley one barrel that had a glass filter screwed into the carburetor body. It looked cool. My old Farmall tractor has a glass bowl separator that's fun to watch. My dent has clear wix filters at the tank, and right next to the distributor! LOL

You're so close, why not pull the engine? You can at least replace oil pan gasket, and rear main seal. You can borrow my hoist and engine stand. I'll have to make a trip to Hell Town (Jackson) this week. Can meet you in Brandon with them.

Yep.... a good running engine is a good thing.... BUT one that provides a second type of entertainment is FUN....
I guess that is what I like about the old Hit and Miss engines...... (yep, Pat has some nice ones).

I have a cherry picker but I am pretty sure I need to get the front brace out first. Thanks for the offer!
(I sure am sorry to hear you have to go into the war zone.... good luck!)
I probably will pull it....
Heck, me and my bro-in-law used to pull engines on Friday after work.... clean 'em up on Saturday and have 'em back in and running before Sunday supper.
(I was younger then and that makes a big difference....LOL)

Crap! I forgot about Pat's peep sight. Gotta work on that today. Doubtful it can be fixed. I'm gonna ask him about his Hit & Miss engines. I've always wanted one.
I was at the "antique" place in Wesson a couple of years ago, and they had one outside and one inside. Well my childish side took over and I turned the flywheel on the one inside. The damn thing fired off at 1/4 turn. My immediate response was to grab it! Even dumber. But it did stop. It's too bad the girls in high school didn't have those....Cause I was really popular in that store for a few minutes.
