Looking for a new cover for my new truck when it gets here in the next week.
I currently have the Pace Edwards Jackrabbit on my 2010 and really like it except for the box it rolls up into. A couple of times my wife and I were moving a couch or dresser and had to keep the tailgate down all because of the box. Other than that I love it... it keeps things dry, very secure, etc.
I’ve had a Roll n Lock on both of my Super Duties (‘15 and current ‘17) and have been very happy with them. Locks up tight, stays dry, and you can open as much or as little as you need.
Lots of options - rolling, folding 3-panel, folding 4-panel, 1-piece, soft, hard, etc. Depends on what you are looking for. I have a fold-a-cover 4-piece hard folding with the personal caddy under the front section. My second unit (had one on my 15 GMC) and love it for what I need. Separate/lockable access to front toolbox/personal caddy, separate access & lockable in rear. No need to lower tailgate (sits on top of bedsides) and works great for towing the 5er. The BAK brand has a full range of products and is well respected as well.
Lund Genesis tri fold soft cover on my Tacoma, Undercover Flex on my Lariat, as stated earlier, lots of choices based on your needs and wallet. My caveat: On line sellers can be problematic IF you have a problem with your order, damage, missing parts or other warranty issue. Many are just marketers of the covers they sell, they don't don't stock anything and if there is an after sale problem, you could be left holding a very expensive bag, or at least a migrane.
I just installed a Retrax cover. It takes 2 men and a small boy, but is easy. My friend has onwe on hia chevy is the reason I bought one. It rolls up so you can pull a gooseneck without problems. It's raining tomorrow so I'll report on the dryness one day this week.
When I first got my truck, I wanted a retractable cover but at the end of the day, I couldn’t pass up the deal I got on BakFlip MX4. At the time I bought it, it was about 600-700 cheaper than the retractables I was looking at, and they were throwing in a free BakBox 2 toolbox.
I have a RetraxPro and love it. I got the kind that has the rails for mounting racks for even more utility. It has kept water, snow, and ice out so far. My buddy owns a truck accessories business in Texas. He has owned and sold them all and this is all he will run now.
By the way, my first unit had a defect on the canister. Retrax built a new one and shipped it overnight. They have really good customer service in addition to a great product.
I've had the BakFlip F1 and a Fold A Cover G4. Both are great covers and the F1 will fold all the way up giving you complete access to the bed. You can also take it off in a couple minutes, and then just put it back when done.
