NEED HELP!!!

I have a 1989 F-150 4x4. The rear end has been changed and it has a different gear ratio than the front end. How can I find out what the orginal gear was in the rear end?

NEED HELP!!!

Jack up the front end and put on stands with the wheels OFF the ground. Transfer case in Neutral. Lock the hubs. Turn wheel 10 revolutions (SLOWLY) and have someone else count driveshaft revolutions.

Total shaft revolutions divided by 10 = gear ratio.

For example.....if shaft turns 35.5 turns for 10 turns of the wheel you have a 3.55 ratio. 41.0 = 4.10

NEED HELP!!!

The vehicle Id tag on the inside of the drivers door should tell you what axle the truck came with . Post the code . It will either be a 2 digit ,IE 25 or 252 . The last two (2) would indicate that there is a limited slip axle .
