I have a 2010 F150 platinum. The dash readout started saying Limited to 80 miles per hour. When I approach 75 mph a warning pops back up saying approaching 80 MPH. I thought the limiter was set to 100 mph. Any suggestions?
It is the only key I have ever had. i just has a tech plug into truck computer to try to get HVAC working properly. Since then I started getting messages limiting me to 80 mph

If you haven't seen this message before then, this "Tech" may have activated the MyKey on you're truck. I'd have them turn that off/deactivate that.
Yes, I just did it on my 13 I picked up that only had one key and MyKey enabled. Bought a cheap $30 ebay china key, then programmed it through the PATS function on forscan. With the second key programmed you can then turn off MyKey. Plus it never hurts to have a spare key.
You need TWO keys to turn on the system in the truck to PROGRAM a third key.... The DEALER can connect you truck to their computer and REPROGRAM it and get you a second key and make one the MyKey..... FORSCAN is a program you can buy that allows you to REPROGRAM the truck and change several settings... One would be to allow you to make a SECOND key with only having ONE key to start with..
Simple thing to do is to go to the dealer and pay $100. to get a second key made and have them turn off the MyKey.... If you think you may have a desire to do additional things in the future, then you might want to look into the FORSCAN system.
Forscan is free. You would need a usb to obd cable that is $30 on amazon. Then a $100 key (Fairway ford on eBay is a Good choice for a legit key) ford keys are strattec keys (might have spelt that wrong). If you are OK with computers it is fairly simple to just do the PATS reprogram with forscan. Other stuff is more challenging but pats had step by step on screen instructions.
