1965 6 Cyl engine center line offset
Assembling the radiator components on our 1965 Short Box restoration. It has the 240 CID 6 Cylinder that is overhauled and reinstalled.
We are adding a Vintage Air A/C system. The engine center line at the water pump shaft looks offset to the right (passenger side) of center in the truck.
I'm trying to add a molded fan shroud and 6 blade fan upgrade. Cannot get a fan shroud that will match the off center fan and radiator mounting.
The engine has inclined side block mounts and they have been replaced with new. They match the originals in size and location. I checked.
What should the center line dimension be from the frame rails left or right to water pump shaft center?
What am I not seeing here?

1968/76 F100/350 360/390. This shroud bolts on 1965/66 F100/250's like it was made for it without any mods. I know because I installed on on my '65 F100 in 1982.
After mentioning this in this forum several years ago (I've posted this info about 5 times), a member bolted one on his '64 F100 292 without any problems.

Thanks All. I thought I might be headed to some modification to make it work. It is the component that Vintage Air shipped with the kit. Their stuff is usually spot on for fit.
Bill, I should have said that I did try the search feature here before I posted, but it didn't retrieve your posts. The search feature has to match just the right words I think.

Also might be mentioned, 65' and 66' radiator supports, are different animals - so to speak. Radiators are mounted differently. The mounting of the battery tray is also different between 65' and 66'.
By the way, motors in these trucks are mounted off center to the right.
Also, not sure if they had them on the 65's or maybe started supplying them at the end of 65' for the 66' models, BUT, a 66' model radiator support grille that I have on the shelf, has a panel that can be bolted in on the 'left' side, that allows for the radiator to be bolted to the right, to match up with the off-set motor. Since I don't post pics to these forums, I'd be happy to send a couple to one of you, and let you post them.
BTW, the 66' support with that side panel, is the only one I have ever seen. I've heard others say that they think they've seen them, but I actually have one.

Thanks John, I’m trying to install an air conditioning system from Vintage Air in our 65 F-100. After a lot of email and phone calls they confirmed that a 1964 and 1965 and 1966 are different in the cooling systems. They missed that when they built the A/C kit.
Their kit for the 1965 is a new offering. I think I bought the first one. They did the development on a 64. The problem is the fan shroud. They don’t have one specific to the 1965 dimensions. The one they sent Is for a 1964 and needs a significant modification to make it work in the 1965! That’s what I have been doing the last couple days. Fan shroud R&D. Thanks for the dimension confirm.
