Not necessarily, the noise still could be in the transmission. And if it WAS a bad input shaft bearing the only way to check it is with the transmission removed.

I don't have a van so yours may be different. But just a warning if you're pressed for time, when mine went out in my pickup I ended up having to take my driveline into a machine shop and have the old one pressed off and new one pressed on.
