I actually didn't even have to do the reset. When I powered back on everything was normal so i'll see if it happens again. There seems to be an issue with the GPS correcting itself? Yes GPS may wander some at times but it should correct itself without needing to power off and power on. Unfortunately this was my first time experiencing this and didn't know to look to see if it actually lost GPS or it was actually inaccurate since the truck is so new to me.
I also logged a case with the ford sync3 chat support.
Awesome.....
Glad to hear all is working well for you.
Have a great weekend.
2018 loaded KR. Travelling on a snow bird trip. This afternoon Nav starting wandering all over. Per the screen, I'm several miles off shore in the Pacific Ocean right now... Better keep the windows rolled up..... "No GPS" icon is illuminated.
I'll call my dealer Monday (warranty), but curious if anyone else experienced this. I did turn off the engine and let it sit awhile, still no GPS....
Once in a while I get no GPS and CarPlay won’t start. Maybe 3x in one year daily driver. When I turn off the truck and restart it problem is gone. I don’t think it’s always an APIM failure sign. Software.
I would take your truck in and have them look at it. My dealer had my truck in 3 times before they ordered a new apim. apparently they have to do several resets before ford will alow them to order a new apim. If your apim is going out it will only get worse
I have had mine do that a few time and when it has it has been on new roads that are not on the map. Soon as I get back in the city or a part of the city everything returns to normal. It only seems to happen in the Houston area.

Anything and everything that has to do with the infotainment system goes through the APIM.
If it was truly a software issue, those who have had their APIM`s replaced, would have had the same problems after it was replaced because the software remains the same.

I’m not saying that they didn’t have hardware issues. But you simply cannot state that the rare behavior I’ve encountered can’t be caused by software.

True but, you also can`t simply state that the rare behavior that you`ve encountered is caused by software especially when there`s more evidence from others who experienced similar issues as you and said issues were cleared up after an APIM replacement.
I guess you`ll find out when or if you take your vehicle into the dealership.
