So I recently purchased a T4 kit for my truck, bought it from a guy in Oregon, I will be writing a thread on how it went together sometime next week.
In the meantime, I am looking for advice on a CCV reroute. I am pretty sure the new intake pipe doesn’t have a bung for the CCV. If not I was looking to make an atmosphere drain system.
I was looking at a strainer from TSC https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/pr...n?cm_vc=-10005
and after the first tube enters, to drain it to the atmosphere.
Anyone have any suggestions/concerns over this idea?
EDIT: Intake pipe has a bung for the CCV so this thread can be used to help others out
A guy in Oregon like you bought it used and it was from one of the well known builders or the "guy in Oregon" built the kit himself?
I am looking forward to your thoughts on the kit and the turbo!
It’s a brand new kit,
hes installed them on multiple trucks and it came out to be ~90$ more than the CSD kit after shipping and getting the driver side intercooler pipe from riff raff.
Everything looks like good quality, just gotta see if it bolts up good.
I’ll post some if I can figure out why they won’t attach when I go to post them 😂
With the new forum layout I find sometimes the pictures take longer to load, try them one at a time and wait patiently till you see it loaded before moving on.
Finished up the job this afternoon.
Had 99% of it done yesterday, needed to get some 1/8 NPT plugs for the intake Y.
Kit had some small issues with the down pipe (bracket for auto trucks needed to be cut off)
Pedestal needed to be ground a little for my "custom" fuel line.
Needed to cut some boots down to size.
But all in all a very nice kit and well thought out.
Pictures will come tomorrow or Tuesday depending when i get out of class.
Sellers Facebook page is Obsession Diesel Performance, helpful and will work with you on the kit (I didn't need all the boots and clamps)
Overall this kit cost me ~100$ more than a CSD kit with a new driver side intercooler pipe, so i didn't mind buying the "expensive" option.
I'll make a new thread on the install and what this kit offers specifically sometime this week.
Be sure to give us the details on your "custom" fuel line as well.
When my father owned the truck, the passenger side fuel line rubbed through, no dealership near us had the fuel line but his friend had some fuel line and some Parker crush washers (if i recall that's what they're called). We bent it the best we could and put it back in cause it fit with the factory pedestal.
Yes the pipes fit with about 1/4" of room, they go above the PS line
Yes the two ports are for EGT probes, mines already in the manifold so I had to plug mine with the supplied plugs.
So far the difference between my D66 and this S364.5SXE is night and day.
The D66 spooled up around 1900RPM and this turbo spools up at around 1500RPM.
Thing i love the most is i don't need to push 20PSI to get moving on the highway, its usually 10PSI max on the on ramp.
Can't say anything about towing cause I only tow in the spring, summer and early fall (boat) but i have a tough time getting above 800 EGTS in my race tune.
I am waiting for new IC clamps cause im too lazy to try to install my tight fitting clamps, and the current ones barely snug them up.
Every pipe on this kit is polished SST.
It took me 10 minutes to install the up pipes compared to an hour for my bellowed up pipes, they are very easy to line up with the v band clamps.
I can get actual numbers in an excel spreadsheet if anyone cares to see how the SXE preforms.
