lifter noise
I'm looking for your thoughts on this I'm finding it to be a head scratcher. I have a 2008 6.4 130,000 miles and I use Rotella 5w40 synthenic oil. For the last 4 oil changes as soon as I change the oil I get an annoying lifter noise when the engine is hot only, I'm assuming it's the lifter that is what is sounds like. It goes for about 800 miles then magically disappears till the next oil change. I don't know if it's related but it's about the same length of time it takes for my oil to change to the usual diesel black. I haven't had any performance issues but any noise gets me nervous. Your thoughts please.
