Opinionated 56 BBW question

looking at production numbers, there were fewer BBW 56s than the standard smaller back window. If using production numbers only it’s clear that BBW are more “rare” than standard cabs (SBW). What I’m not sure of is the number of BBW short wheel base (SWB) vs long wheel base (LWB) produced. I assume there were more SWB BBW produced. But, I’m thinking in the case of either the BBW or SBW the SWB are more popular. So, after all those abbreviations here is the question. I have a BBW cab and both long and short wheel base frame. For resale purposes, which would be best. Are long beds with fewer produced worth more or this much like the difference between a four and two door sedan.

I don't think it's on the same level of the two door versus 4 door question but my opinion is the the short bed F100 56 is nicer looking and threrefore more popular than the long bed F100 56. Soni believe the most popular would be the short bed BBW 56. And a BBW long bed is more popular than the regular back window long bed.

In your calculations don't for get that the bigger series trucks could get the BBW option too.

Short bed always brings more than a long bed regardless big or small window

kind of figured that. Of course, there is always the person who wants to load a vintage motercycle in the back with the tailgate closed. Just fewer in numbers.

Refer to your original statement, "for resale purposes". Go find that guy who wants to load a vintage bike in the truck and then see what he'll pay. My guess is that if hauling bikes is his requirement he could car less about the size of the rear window. I have seen many LWB 56 F100s at shows that have a BBW cab...most of the comments go something like, "why did that guy waste a BBW cab on a LWB truck?".

Add in the probable theory that most long beds were bought by those that intended them to be hard working trucks and the bbw would be more prone to breakage and higher expense to replace.
