Question 2018 6.2L completely dead

My truck is almost 1 year old and has almost 17K miles it's an XL. I just went to the truck and the remote would not unlock the doors. I think 'crazy' that the fob battery died so suddenly. Get in truck and it is as though the battery has been removed. No lights on dash, completely unresponsive at ignition. I mean no sounds and no lights, nothing. I check battery connections. Seem tight, still no response to key. I press the radio button to see if power is available. Radio comes on and the information cluster says the alarm is going to sound if i don't start the truck. Truck starts fine. drive across town and key locks doors and truck starts right up. Thanks for any ideas of what the hell happened? I'm really freaking out.

This happened to me back in June, 2018 6 months into ownership. We were on vacation and stopped to get something to eat. Came out to the truck to get back on the road, and the same exact thing happened. It hasn't happened again since.

The key fob sends basically a validation code to the truck. Sometimes they can go bad, so maybe it glitched on you. If it happens again, try your other fob and see if the problem stops.

Thanks hlozano! I searched for another thread but didn't use the right keywords obviously. Relieved to know I'm not alone, but worried about the truck. Glad it hasn't happened again. Take care.

Good to know seville009. I had wondered if my other key would have performed differently. Hopefully i'll never need to check.

Sounds like a PCM glitch.
Perhaps all it need was a reboot.

My Ram 2500 would do this usually after heavy rains. I would disconnect the positive battery wire for a minute and all was fine. Happened a few times a year. Of course the dealership could never replicate.
