73-78 leaf flip?

so I just bought a 78 f150 2wd reg long box and I am considering lowering it, I am wondering how much of a drop a leaf spring flip will do and how much of a drop I would need for the front to make it level and what I would need for the front? First time lowering a truck if I go ahead with it

you want to flip the leaf packs upside down??? that won't work.

why not go SUA? that'd lower you about 6". The axle may come into contact with the frame though. C notches are often required to lower that much. To do this you need the spring perches cut and rewelded to the bottom of the axle.

I ment put the leaf under the axle, sorry for the confusion. If I do the c notch and the lua how much would I have to lower the front? I’m starting to think I should leave my front ride height where it is and just drop the back to make it level, would the lua be to much of a drop for that?

I think the OP does mean a "SUA" or more commonly referred to in FTE as an "axle flip".

An axle flip is worth about 5.25 inches of drop. Lower the front end using DJM beams and the truck will sit nearly level with a slightly smaller diameter (shorter in height) tire in front. I used Fatman Fab's , totally bolt-on axle flip system. Read through my 70's build thread (linked in my signature) for dimensioned drawings of the spring pad saddles and shock relocation brackets. Yes, a C-notch on the frame will be required... I welded Fatman Fab's C-notch plates to my frame.
