'15 EL - No heat from front for rear units. I have changed the blend door actuator already.
Has anyone had the auxiliary water pump fail? I'm asking because before the problem occurred I could hear the coolant in the heater core "whoosh" when the engine started.
I'm not hearing that any longer. Also, I can get heat temporarily while the engine is running at higher rpm (passing on a two-lane for example).
I have tested for voltage at the pump and it's good.
Part # is "FL1Z-18d473-A".
Thanks

Alloro - you hit the nail on the head. Coolant was almost a gallon low. Guess I need to stick to the KISS principle.
The overflow/degas bottle looks like has coolant in it when it really does not.
Heat is working great again. Will keep a much closer eye on the coolant level.
My question would be "where did the coolant go"? You obviously have a leak somewhere and that may not end up being simple...there is NO circumstance under which coolant loss is normal.
I've got 100K miles on my 15' EL I've had to add probably 4oz of water or coolant to mine at every oil change. 5K internvals since I got it at 28K miles. Brought it up to the dealer multiple times and they say it's normal. Normal means I would have to do this to every vehicle I've ever owned but that's not the case.
