Gun Safe

What is the best gun safe for my 2017 F450? Why? How does it install? How does the combination work? Can it be easily defeated by use of a hammer?

I have the lockerdown with extra heavy duty lid and push button electronics. I think it was in the 450 range so, and no u couldnt get in it with a hammer or screwdriver. You would have to cut the console out of the truck. Very heavy duty, looks good and 10 minute install.

I have 1 truck with the "Lockerdown" box and 1 truck with the "console vault". I think they are the same quality, and provide roughly the same level of protection. The lockerdown doesn't require a key which is handy.

I had the Lock r down in my burb. I bought it for $29 on ebay from someone who sold his burb and took it out. My point to this? I paid $29 probably b/c the lid was scratched up and had hammer marks on it. The seller informed me that someone broke into his vehicle and tried to breach it with a hammer or something but was unsuccessful. So, there you go. $4 in sandpaper and spray paint and good as new.

Now, I have the Ford Accessories version in my F350. It is basically the same deal. It looks the same, feels the same, etc. I wouldn't own a vehicle without it. If you get the Ford version, google the part number and find the cheapest dealer online, then ask your selling dealer to match it. That's what I did.

Another locker down vote

I have the locker down xxtreme with electronic lock in my F450 as well, we are so happy we put a locker down in my wife’s car as well. Locker down customer service has been awesome to deal with too.

Another vote for the Lock 'er Down with the electronic lock. Good product, easy to install, and great customer service. Someone would have to destroy the console to get in it. They even included a gun magnet.
