Fuel pump

How good are these fuel pumps? I have 270k miles on the original trying to decide if I should change just to be proactive.

I've been thinking about getting a new module too since I'm coming up on 200k. That's long enough service life for me because I know when it will quit. 9 o'clock at night on a Saturday and 200 miles from home.

Its why I got the new pump by itself and carried it on the trucks last long trip in the emergency parts box. I may no put it in for a full replacement for more miles.

That's what I'll do with the old original one. Just like the starter I carry.

Have to agree with 87 on this one. Why lay on the side of the road in the dark and the mud changing the old one out? That would be my luck in the middle of a thunder storm.
