Well, after 220,000 miles we had to replace the fuel pump today. Since they were chaning that I had them put new intake screens on it and a new fuel filter. All that with an oil change with Royal Purple was only $450.00. Not too bad. Maybe I can get a few more mile out of her now, it seems like it dropped pretty drastically recently. Who knows, we will see when we head up to Chicago and Boston on Friday.
Man...talk about poor American quality! Only 220K on a fuel pump!
I seemd to have lost some MPG's but that could be just my mind and my wifes driving!! Knock on wood that is the only thing that has really gone out or bad orther than an alt. or two.

Mine only lasted 80K before leaving me stranded!
As opposed to my two Subarus that each have close to 300K miles and the original fuel pumps! I even checked around with Subaru clubs as to how often to replace the fuel pump as maintainence. They said, "never, or at one million miles, whichever comes first."
LOL,,,Well ofcourse the Subaru fuel pump last forever,,,they hardly work at 30-40 mpg,,,,,,,But a little bit of bad on the Subaru's,,,my Nephew works at a Subaru dealer,,,he said almost all of them Blow Head Gaskets at 99k miles,,,they keep him busy doing the head Gaskets !,,,Just what I heard from him.
Subaru's are an unfair car to compare to. Fortunately there really is no comparison, as they don't make trucks. Great cars, no trucks. And subaru's headgasket problems are with their 2.5litre engines. The 2.2's don't have that problem. Replace them once with the updated gaskets, and you are set. My legacy had 200k when they failed, replaced and still going strong.

I wish I got 30-40 MPG! I have the SVX and I get about 15-17 with my "spirited" driving. That would mean that the volume of the Subaru fuel pump puts out almost as much fuel as the Excursion at 13 MPG.
If Work = Mass * Gravity * Height, we can calculate the amount of work done by the fuel pump.
Using 1.5' from bottom of Subaru gas tank to top it's pancake engine & 2.5' to the top of a Ford V engine...
