And did he paint a see-through fuel filter black!?
So is that an electronic puller type fuel pump mounted in engine bay, is that another 2 fuel filters inline to it from the tank, and then a black fuel filter on the line going to the throttle body, so 3 fuel filters, did he use an old fuel tank and not clean it out?
That is a fuel Command Center that Fitech offers for their EFI kits. It allows you to keep your mechanical fuel pump and not install an inline electric or in-tank electric pump. I'm pretty sure it requires a filter before the command center and one after at the least.

Great info!! thx for all the comments.

additional info from the seller:

"I replaced the instrument cluster lights with brighter LED. Most of the lights except for headlights and parking lights are now LED with new light sockets in the brake lights. The extra gauges by the glove box are, gas, water and oil . They work but I used the water temp probe for the FiTech fuel injection computer so that gage reads zero. You can read all the engine information to include water temp on the FiTech LCD screen inside the glovebox . The truck has all the modern amenities but i hid them so the truck looks original as possible. I also spent over 2,000 on the stereo system."

Sounds and looks like a really nice truck with tons of features for that money.

Not to mention the free labor that looks like it was pretty well done.

IMO it seems like a new truck at less than 1/2 the new truck price.

I just put 3 new electric Autometer gauges in my truck for $200 on sale and it takes 3-4 hrs and another $40 in wire and fittings to install it all....point is that it all adds up if someone was keeping an honest track.

I don't see any ground up builds done right for less than $20k in parts with free labor. Farming anything out (like paint?)...better add another $5k minimum on clean and straight sheetmetal.

That's alot of 3/4 ton truck for $18k......anyone that doesn't recognize that hasn't done one from the ground up.

UPDATE: So I bought the truck, flew up to Seattle and drove her down to Dallas TX.. Fantastic trip... she rode super smooth. Took me a while but it was well worth it.
Also, deep inside the cab is still blue paint, so either the donor cab was also blue, or its the original cab, which I think it is. The rear tank was taken out and of cab and patched up.

Attached is a photo of my Grandpas old truck, looks to be 72-76, I'm guessing/hoping 76 the same year as mine. I can't tell if its an F150 or F250 tho, anyone see any clues?

Whoa, had to do a double take there. My grandfather had a red dentside years ago, and that picture looks enough like him that I had to stop and think if I have any relatives in Texas. The Oregon plates didn't help matters either. To answer your question, that grille is from a 73-75. It could be a 76 or 77 if the inserts were swapped, but probably not likely given how new the truck was in the picture. The ride height doesn't look tall enough to be a highboy IMO, so I would guess F100 (or F150 possibly if it is a 75).

thanks for the info! Yea he would not have swapped the grill inserts, and 73-75 F150 is probably right. That was my recollection that it was an F150, so its most likely a 1975 F150.

Glad you got it home and in your possession. Not many 70’s fords you can fly in and drive home that distance without issue.

any more plans for it?

No F150's until 1975.

Thanks for your help! Looking for the facts on this, not guesses or opinions.
Well since you're looking for facts and not guesses or opinions then I would've told you that ALL 1976 F-250 4x4's were Highboys. Apparently the clairvoyants here knew what you meant, as usual.

P.S. I now know that the vehicle in question is a 4x4 but I didn't know it from the 1st post. I've been asked if my 78 F-250 2wd was a Highboy. I should've said yes and sold it
