So I am going to replace the front leafs on my 1993 f250 4x4. It shows my spring code is 6F which are the weaker front springs. There are a few choices on Rock Auto and one of them being the 3480lb springs instead of the weak 2485lb springs. If I go with the heavier duty ones, will it also level me out??
If you have less than 2 inches of gap under your bump stops, it should.
The stiffer spring may not raise it as much as you'd hope, though, because
it will have less preload built into it.
There is a letter code stamped into the leaf itself- that will confirm what's really there.
Finally, if you have a stiffer spring in front, you'll notice even more 'trucklike'
behavior from it- understeer especially, and you'll want to be careful the first few
times driving it with a heavy load, as it will behave differently.
Me, I'd just try new of what's on there, for starters, unless you want to increase its capacity for other reasons.
