Ok, so I have a 94 F150 with the 5.0. I just ended up replacing the brain, but now it won't start. It fires with a starter fluid shot, but wont stay running. What's up??
Have you checked inertia switch? i think thats how it spelled. anyway you might have accidentally tripped it and gas isn't flowing to the engine? do you hear the gas pump running?
I hear the pump run, I checked the inertia switch and it's good. I just put in an ecu and now it wont start...I put in a F4TF-AVA ecu. Guy said he pulled it from his 95 when he switched the motor and tranny. But it had the exact motor and tranny as mine. Does the 94s ecu need to be vin matched, or can it plug and play? Or is there something that could have fried itself when I reconnected the battery that would stop fuel from getting in?
hmm its possible the ECU is bad or Pin out might be different but i can't say for sure. IF all you have done is swap the ECU than i would lean towards the ECU being the issue but if you have made other changes I would make sure fuel is getting to the engine. sounds like its carb? i have a 5.0 fuel injected and i had a similar issue and that was because i had the spark plug wires in the wrong order.
