95 AWD XLT with rear/aux heater hose part #
Hi, I just fitted a new water pump to my 4.0l, AWD 95 Aerostar and the old 'T' hose from the pump has split between the pump spigot and the 'T'. I have been trying to source a new hose but even my local Ford agency can not supply a part number so that I can search ebay etc, (I realize that it is an obsolete part officially.)
In the scan below which Ford supplied they are the two pipes labelled 18472 (#4 and #5) strangely Ford can not supply me with official Ford part nos though!
As far as I can see there are two identical heater pipes (supply and return) both have a T moulded into them, and only differ in the male and female quick connect ends. If anyone can give me a Ford part number for the hose(s) I would be very much in your debt! Or, even better tell me where I might find NOS ones.
Failing NOS is there a similar hose that I can add quick couplers to to get the vehicle going again? In the short term I am planning to simply block the output from the pump and have no heaters working.
Thanks!

With a little creativity, all hoses shown in that picture can be replaced with standard straight hose you buy per foot
from anywhere. All you really need is a 3-way ‘T’ piece. I did this on an ‘87 and believe I used a copper plumbing fitting that matched the hose diameter. The quick connect fittings can be purchased aftermarket at parts stores.

I'm in a similar situation with my 93 Aero with rear A/C heat. No NOS appears on eBay and TASCAparts shows subject hoses NLA.
Is your failed hose on the suction side (returns to water pump) or from the supply side (behind T-stat in the hot water chamber)? My return hose reaches all the way to the firewall behind A/C receiver dryer, where it attaches using the funky FORD push lock with the plastic tabs..... does not look same as that diagram. As the other poster noted, you can buy pieces of hose as well as the replacement pushlok connector; the balance would require the tee, which could be a brass 5/8" hose size.
Try searching eBay for "AEROSTAR heater hose DAYCO" and you will find the various pieces you can build from.

I found that there are at least 2 designs for those T hoses, with the molded bends at different places depending on the year of the van. If you got the wrong one, you may find that it will not clear all the other plumbing around the engine. So you may very well want to build your own from standard parts.
On one of my vans, I ended up cutting off the plastic fittings going to the heater core in the firewall and just clamping standard hoses to the nipples using standard hose clamps. One thing to deal with was that some times the hoses have different sizes on each end. You can find adapters, or just try to jam a smaller hose over a bigger fitting.

Putting "F49Z 18472-K" into DuckDuckGo (my search engine), there is one seller who claims to have this in inventory. This seller also has a web page and sells NOS parts. I have no idea if this seller actually has this assembly or what the price would be, but if you want to keep your Aero all Ford, it's worth a shot.

I just heard from the seller of the F49Z 18472-LA that it is not available.. So the search is still on! I have asked him if he will send it anyway, if it is clean NOS maybe the ends will be reusable, and it will be a mint pattern to copy. He/she wrote:Hey,
Im very sorry but i pulled the hose off the shelf and it have a tear on it.
I will refund you the money right away.
Sorry.
