The receiver I use on my F150 is set up with a 21 inch ball height. This is measured from the ground to the top of the ball. This setting allows me to tow our boat with the trailer being leveled. I plan on ordering a new 2.5 inch receiver hitch for my 2019 Super Duty once it arrives. The SD does not have any additional camper package, plow package, etc. Just your basic SD gasser. Will a 6 inch drop receiver be low enough to give me the 21 inch ball height? Or do I need a 8 inch drop?
I have a curt 6 inch adjustable hitch (CURT-45902) with 35 inch tires. The top of the ball comes in at 23 inches. With stock tires you may be close enough.
With a Reese 2 1 /2" x 7 3/4" drop shank ground to top of ball is about 18" on my 2018 250 gasser. It does have the snow plow package but I don't think that affects rear height much if any. I would think the 6" will get you close.
My 2019 gasser is 25" from the ground to the inside top of the receiver and with the trailer level it's 25" to the trailer hitch. With the trailer on it sags about 1.5" so I actually need a little rise for my hitch ball.
