Hello, I am new to the forum, been poking around a little and decided to join up! A little about the project(s) I have going. My first dive into the Fridge arena is getting my late Uncle's 59' F100 Styleside going after about thirty years. He drove it to the farm yard and that is where it stayed until I went and got it years ago. My plan is to drop the body on a crown vic frame and power train inspired by a gentlemen named Jason's yellow 60' F100 I seen on Youtube. Sorry to the purists (I have restored to factory before) but I figured the truck is not a good enough shape to save, restoration wise. Also I plan to drive this truck a lot so some modern features will be of benefit. I plan on an air ride system and larger rims.
So that being said I would like to pick your brains on a couple of decisions.
1. What are your thoughts/opinions on aftermarket Air/Heat units from companies like Vintage Air, Classic Auto Air, Old Air Products? Anyone had good luck with one of those suppliers?
2. I want a better bench or 60/40. Any good donors
Super easy bolt in bench seat is 88-98 GM C/K series truck.
Drill 4 holes and bolt it in is already the right height/width and has a slightly thinner back so you get bit more legroom.

Nice truck. I am more of a purist, I'd daily drive it the way it is,,, with some maintenance!! What engine/tranny combo? If the heater box assembly is still there and in good shape, you can source a new heater core. I have a number for it, but it will need updated as the manufacturer has changed them. Last time I posted it someone was able to cross it to the new number. The lines are a little short, so I had to open the access holes in the firewall and run the hoses inside the box about half an inch.
Thanks for the input. I am going to be running with the Vic 4.6L drive train. Complete frame swap. I was looking at finding a company/kit that may allow me to run some Heat/Air components off the Vic (Compressor, brackets, lines) Some thing I have seen clos to a builders kits. The original stuff is shot and may be real tough to mate the two (Vic and Original).
I will also start looking for a Chev/Gmc seat.
I need a tailgate as well and would buy re-pop (Dennis Carpenter, LMC) if I had to but would like original Ford steel. The one in pics is bent badly and would take a lot of work to straighten ANYONE HAVE A EXTRA??
Below is a video from Matt's YouTube channel (Rivercity). In it he talks about using the CV A/C parts with a "half" kit from Vintage Air. This is the route I hope to go when I am ready to do the A/C in my truck.
I have a Classic Air system in my 60. Works great, mine is on a 292. If you do a search you can find my install threads. Here is part 2 it is the inside pics that would be used by you. The first part on is the install on the 292. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/7...-part-2-a.html

1957/60 Styleside beds installed on the following 1961/66's. Called the "wrong" bed by enthusiasts, because the 1957/60 bed lines don't match the 1961/66 cab lines.
Thanks, I have viewed all Matt's videos. Is he on this forum? I wanted to connect with him (ask questions) but do not have instagram or twitter. And his youtube comments are long and not sure he responds to them all.
If you go to his YouTube channel and click "About", you can get an email address for him. I have emailed with him a few times, Matt's a really good guy and will do his best to answer your questions.
