Low Engine Temp

I can take the cover off the heater core and look for leaks. The blend door is sealing completely as I vacuumed and zip tied the door shut. When the cover is off the heater core I get plenty of heat but as soon as the cover goes on it's cold.

The temp blend door on my ‘94 Bronco was controlled by a cable so I’m not sure what you vacuumed and zip tied shut. Also are you sure you went to hot and not cold and the door stopped against the heater box and not something in the way?

Almost all of these trucks I have seen read relatively low on the temp gauge when warmed up. Use an IR thermometer and check the T stat housing and hose etc to see what the temp really is. How cold is the outside temp there?
