2015 F250 with locking e-diff. Locked e-diff disengages above 25mph in 2x4 or 4x4 hi, as it should.
I have a problem I'm trying to diagnose, and it would really help if the e-diff stayed locked above 25mph in 2x4 mode. I know there are kits you can buy, but I'd just like to setup something temporary. Cutting/splicing wires is fine, and even having to hook something to a external 12v power source would be fine.
Any diagrams of the e-diff available?
How might one do this?
12V direct will lock it up. It's a modulated voltage through the pcm, but there's guys that have swapped them into older axles and run off constant 12V without issue. One guy was even monitoring the temp to see if constant 12V would overheat the solenoid and it wasn't an issue.
What exactly are you doing to need the e locker at over 25mph?
I have a vibration at 70-75mph. Currently I can jack up rear end and run up to 75mph and feel it, but I need to insure both tires are at same speed while off the ground to be able to figure out which side, if tire/rim is involved, etc.
