Can't you copy your songs to a USB drive and then plug that in? That sounds a lot easier than adding a CD player to the dash.

I have iTunes and have been collecting MP3s and adding CDs ( old and new) to it for a handful of years but have still thrown a number of collections onto CDs over the years, I too will miss the CD slot on the dashboard...I was very disappointed when I saw its discontinuance stated at the beginning of the 2019 order guide...

You can fit more songs on a USB drive than you can fit on a CD.

You can do the same thing with a USB drive. Think of the USB drive as a non-circular CD.

I think you could do something pretty easy. Just like the new classic NES consoles now have an hdmi cord- you should be able to find a portable CD player that would take a usb cord and just plug it into the USB port - and music should play through the stereo. I would look on amazon, looks like HOTT makes them. Plug the power into the cigarette lighter in the console or the DC plug on dash and either USB port in console or under by cup holders would in theory play music through the stereo

However, I have a buttload of CD’s.
I have 2019 Sync 3 equipped STX...2 USB ports. So, no CD player. I’m not taking the time to download, or even learn how, to get a thousand songs on my “old” Samsung Galaxy S4.
So, how in the world do I play CD’s? Get a portable player that’ll plug in to USB, use ear buds? I’m already tired of Sirius
Thanks....I’m sure Im not gonna do too well in the future when my 6 year old teaches her daddy everything technology related.

I'll give the USB a try but might stick with CD in the end since I have the slot.

Looks easy enough and if songs/artists are listed on Sync and/or voice selectable then should be good to go.

Using Windows to rip CDs is a simple and fast process. As others have mentioned, once its done, its done and available to USB drives, phone, cloud, etc. I ripped my ~400 CDs. No need to ever touch them again.

hey there, i found a kit from these guys and it works great in my truck. works through the usb port. they were very helpful when i emailed them some questions before i purchased

https://www.ensightauto.com/products...d-sync-3-3-3-4

i had to get the kit to upgrade my 4 inch screen to the 8 inch screen to make it work, but after I got the 8 inch system the usb cd player works great.
the company that makes the cd player also offers the upgrade to the 8 inch sync 3 for a great price.

I went this route. It sits inside my console and works great. A little pricey but allows me to play CDs when I want. Shows up in the Sync menu as a USB device and the controls in the steering wheel / dash work it just fine.

External USB CD Player
