Could this be my CD player causing this?

Ok, here is a problem I am having. I wanted to post here to see if you guys might think it is my CD player. I have a Panasonic CD player in my truck that I have had for about 3 years now. I had it in my old F150 and then put in the new one. What is happening is that when I play a CD that is burned off of my computer some of the songs are starting at 1:00 minute into the song. It only does this some of the time and it seems to random as to which songs it happens to. Plus the CD gets really hot when I take it out. I know they are normally warm, but these CD's are HOT. All of the songs play good and sound really great. The CD's I use are Memorex CDs but they are not the music ones. I haven't really played a regular CD lately to see if it does it to those also.

My manager at work suggested I use a CD cleaner to see if that helped. I did that and then put the CD back in and it still done it. I haven't really tried the CD on another CD player yet, but I am just curious if any of you audio guys might know if this is could be the CD player or the CD itself?

Are you using CD-R or CD-RW's? CD-RW sometimes cause problems. Your stereo is probably not designed to work with burned CD's and may not read them properly (3 yrs. old is pretty old in electronics). You may want to try burning the CD's at a low speed (12x or so) and that might help (my old Alpine wouldn't read high speed burned CD's). Hope that helps.

I use CD-R's. I already knew about not using CD-RW's. The thing is I have been using these CD's for a while. I have about 10-15 CD's using these same CD's and it just started doing this just recently, like in the last week or so. I thought it may have been the CD itself, so I used another one that had never done this before and it started doing it also.

About burning at a lower speed, mine only burns at like 12X and it is a Sony at that. I have it set to max or 12X and it records music in real time. So basically 70 minutes worth of music actually takes about 85 minutes to record, which really sucks. Time to upgrade I guess. Maybe when I get my income tax back, I will get a DVD burner.

I know this thread is kind of old now, but I found out that it is not my CD player, it was the disks that i used. I made 2 more CD's on a different brand of disk and have not had one single problem with either of them.

Thanks for your suggestions though.
