Chip Identification
Nice forum....1st post. I am trying to help my dad with his truck ( 2000 F250 150k) and I am trying to identify a chip that I pulled off the computer. Turns out this chip end up causing a random stall/running issue and using google I cannot seem to find anything like it. The chip worked pretty well for the 18 years it was installed so I am trying to find a replacement with the same performance because with the chip removed from the truck is just not the same truck performance wise. The chip from what he tells me was purchased from the dealership in 2000 as a demo and it was installed when he purchased it so I assumed it was an ford option but I cannot find any info so that seems to be not the case.
Attached in a pic of the label. It is completely in cased in a green coating/plastic.
Thanks if you can help,
Eddie
Since the chip had issues, chuck it and invest in new technology and tuning knowledge. Look at a Hydra tuner then you can try different tunes from different tuners without pulling the chip, you simply download them from your computer.
BTW I don't think that is OE ford item, more of a Superchips knockoff if this thread is to be believed.

Let the old chip go and start researching the new options available. My guess is you’re going to be pleasantly surprised by the new tunes available for the truck. The Hydra allows for 15 tunes plus stock and no start. Load 5 or 15 your choice. The TS6 allows for 6 tunes, programmed by the tuner you choose, you send the chip in they program it and you install it.
when you email him send him a pic of your chip, he might be interested in it if it actually a Ford chip and not just some knockoff a less then scrupulous dealer was offering.
