Heater help!

Ok i am a welder and can fix almost anything if i know whats wrong BUT i have no idea where to start on this. I have a 1966 f250 custom cab and the blower motor does not work. I just went through a nightmare of a time trying to hook up the cluster.

the truck runs well and reaches operating temp so i will diagnose the heater core later but for now thats not the issue.

the headlights and tail lights work but no turn or brake lights so possibly related?

the radio, cabover lights, and heater do not work.

there is a **** that says heat, one that says fan- off/high/low and one that you pull to change from heat to defrost. The heat/ defrost **** is a mechanical linkage so is likely not

My question is where to go. Electrical is my weakness. Is there a common fail point? I cant find a wiring diagram that has any info on the blower motor or *****.

its 8 degrees outside so im trying to figure out what online before i head outside to dig into it.

any help is appriciated thank you!

Blower motor is not working work. Have you checked power to the switch, power out of the switch, does the heater box warm up to the touch? I would start there.

No power at either post of the switch. But there is an open spade.

Do you have a wiring diagram? There is a set of connecters before they go into the heater box that you can check power to the motor.

First thing to check are fuses. There aren't many.

I think those two wires are the heater feed, but the switch will need 12v in order to have an output. Do you have 12v anywhere with the key on?

Scratch that.... my wire wasnt connected on the other end. With 12v to that open spade the fan came on.

where is that spade supposed to get power from. Short of running a new wire

One thing to look at generally is the large electrical pin block connectors through the firewall, these will be corroded all to hell unless somebody has given them some special attention. Try a brass bore brush and kerosene.

I think the wire is 14ga Brown and comes from the fuse block. Unless someone used it for something else it should be not far away.
