BW1356 PTO

Hey guys, I have a question regarding the BW1356 PTO.

The setup is an 88 F-350 cab and chassis truck, 7.3, ZF5, BW1356 with PTO port (on passenger side). I currently have a PTO on the ZF5 (passenger side) which runs a driveshaft toward the rear to power a hydraulic pump for the dump bed.

Is it possible to move the PTO to the transfer case? I have a u-joint on the PTO shaft that is rubbing the transfer case. I can grind the PTO cover plate a bit to provide clearance, but I decided it would be less of a hack-job to correctly move the PTO. I currently have the fluids draining so I can pull the PTO off and install it on the t-case tomorrow. But I just had 2 dumb questions hit me.
A) To use the transfer case PTO, does the transmission need to be in 1st gear with the t-case in Neutral?? When using the dump bed, place the t-case in neutral, trans in a gear, then engage the PTO, then engage the hydraulic valve?
B) Will the PTO gears mesh correctly? The PTO is coming from the ZF5 passenger side to the BW1356 PTO on the passenger side. I never even thought about the gears, I saw the 6-bolt pattern and thought nothing of moving it. I'm sure the answer will be clear tomorrow.

Thanks guys for your help.

Same pattern, different gears I believe, proper operation dont know. And need a shim kit and dial indicator to set proper backlash. Sounds like the install was wrong. Have pto and pump witb a driveshaft in my 1991 no issues.
The manufacture website of your pto will have chart and say what pto to use. For any of the transmissions or transfer case. Can be hard to find the chart sometimes.
