i know a pto is not a transfer case. i did not ask about a transfer case . please read before u try to answer. a t-18 is a h-d 4 speed trans made by borg/warner and a np 435 is a h-d 4 speed trans made new process gear/dana corp. both transmissions have a cover on the side of the case, that can be removed to install a pto. i need to know if the bolt holes on the case are the same and will the gears on the countershaft mesh ?

I did read the question. The way it was phrased might lead a newbie to believe a transfer case is a PTO.
PTO's were only available if the truck was special ordered with one. They weren't on the options list. Very few F100/350's were fitted with a PTO. Dealers would sometimes send the vehicle out and have a PTO installed locally.
Two different transmission manufacturers, the trans cases are completely different. The NP 435 side cover is half the size of the one on a Warner T-18.
Who has a PTO service manual? The only place you might try is faxonautolit.com, or the company that built the PTO.

thanks bill i will try faxonautolit , already tried manf. could not make heads or tails of their cat. from what u say about the plates being different sizes i think i am already sunk.
I am doing the reverse.I'm puting in b/w inplace of NP 435.Maybe we can help each other out.I need a PTO to fit the b/w.My np 435 has a spicer pto that worked fine.It does not fit the b/w because of the gear shaft is reversed. The pto itself bolts up to the side of the b/w but is to far away from the gear. If you are still looking or have the pto email asap this is a work in progress. esantia@***.net
