I know about the door jab tags, and the frame stamps, but what is this tag and what does it tell me? It's attached near the blower housing in my engine bay. The vin part of the number matches everything else on the truck (so, that's good news!)
Probably a production tag used to tell line workers what should be put in your truck while cruising down the factory line.
Just a guess tho Numberdummy will be along soon to educate us lol

^ Buck Tag ^ used by assembly line workers to assure the correct parts that match the build sheet are installed on the vehicle.
The VIN may match, but for the most part, codes on buck tags cannot be decoded.
Thanks. Still neat even if it doesn't tell me much. I'm guessing every plant probably had their own set of codes. If anyone else has a Norfolk truck with one of these tags
I'd love to see if anything matches up.
1982 Tu-Tone Capri This is off 4 eyed pride, just an example, I think the people there have started compiling and comparing enough to figure out most fox bodied cars. Could do this with trucks if enough people could find build sheets and window stickers or Marti reports. Would be hard to do considering the amount of original owners now and how many parts have been swapped or added. Would be cool though.
