Flooring and new cabinets for this house is on the list for year. I thought I had enough pine cut, but it would have been barely enough for tge LR. So I use that for new roof on the shed. The project list repair existing shed, do a 12x10 addition to that shed. Build the solar kiln to dry lumber, build a 12 x10 shed out at the land. Build a 8x10 for the UTV. That just the construction stuff. Got to mill all the lumber first
They paved around the front and the back of the building !!!
Hard to see from the highway but it looks like they only have around the sides of the building left to do now. Won't happen today because the rain is not far away according to radar.
All the parts I need for the 4 wheeler arrived yesterday so I can finally finish that thing up next week.
I am thinking of trying to build a small shed in the spring.
Sounds like you got it going on Jacob!!
Yea on parking lot. What size shed? I may have plans. Legally you can uild up to 12x10 without a permit. Over that permit and have to use International Building Code. That state not county. Just read thru the code other than confusing. It cheaper to buy a portable. No pier and beam foundation.
I have not really decided on a size, I may just enclose the carport I already have when I sell the boat.
Didn't do a thing yesterday but spend time with little man. We bought him some Spiderman underwear in the hopes of getting him done on potty training. He was wearing them around last night and he is so darn cute is his little undies. He had them on for a couple of hours and no accidents, so fingers crossed. It would great not having to worry about diapers on our trip the end of March.
started my renovations. Carpet and pony wall will be coming out here real soon, but I had to start somewhere, so the wood paneling came off, found an unfinished wall aka the damn hole. So I used drywall off the pony wall to make a patch and kept going. This morning I ran out to get my wall texture, so I can go ahead and do that, kilz the never painted and mudded part, then start knocking the ceiling pop corn off. May be replacing all my crown molding too. I tried to save most of it, but some pieces broke and I believe it to be a 1977 special. I am saving all my quarter round though, that all came off nicely.
Then the butlers bar, and window sill will be stained together to match, and all the wood in the house will be painted otherwise, except maybe the kitchen cabinets. Those may stay wood unless I replace them.
oh i know. I already want to knock out some walls, do the ceilings, recessed lightning, indirect lighting.
ive got it planned out, and we will be doing this throughout the nect couple months when my projects become stalled or weather says stay inside
Jacob
The saw dust is super additive. 2 years ago lumber came from the big box store, now it comes from my mill. Right now I asm just doing simple stuff. Once it stays dry long enough for the grading contractor to get in and cut the driveway up the hill, I be super busy logging and milling
Home remodelling can be fun but can expensive. I'm still burnt out from remodeling from the last house we owned. We redid every room in the house, blew in insulation in the attic, replaced the roof and replaced the AC System. The guy teaching me and his assistant are out today so I am running the shop by myself. I have the parts for the 4 wheeler in the truck so hopefully the cold will keep it slow so I can work on it today.
I got to do repairs on this house floors and cabinets. After 25 years the particle board cabinets are giving up. The carpet has died. When we are ready to move I paint.
I have run it more than that but lost count.
The full moon was working on bringing out the crazy people today.
It was going pretty good till this very rude customer called and tried to belittle me, I held my tongue but it was rough. It went downhill after that.
Then you get nutty people call like this:,
My grandpa has a 5075 tractor and I need to know where the block heater cord is. Sir: That tractor does not come from the factory with a block heater so I really don't know.. But my grandpa said it has one and I need to know where it is.
Better yet: I bought a tractor from your store 2 or 3 years ago and I just had it repaired in Tennessee and didn't get a copy of the receipt. I need a copy of the receipt. Sir, you are going to have to call the store in Tennessee where you had it repaired. Then he said never mind let me talk to a salesman. No problem sir, sales line 1 !!!
Furniture arrives on Wednesday, Rumor has it that this is the last week working in Cartersville,
And you thought it was just the military thst was like that. We had some pilots like that. "Radio did not work in OFF mode" correction action put radio in ON mode ops checked good". Just remember you can not fix stupid.
They don't keep the customers informed is what I see as the biggest problem, so I'm going to do things differently at our store. I sure hope this is our last week working there, I'm ready to be in our store.
