Hey all,
Have spent a few days this week wandering the local jy.
Noticed a truck that had a different wiring harness than I've seen before. Some manuf. number googling has indicated that it is for some egr stuff.
A couple of the solenoids for this were mounted on a metal cover that went over the duraspark unit.
Does the cover serve any purpose other than just a convenient location for mounting the solenoids to?
In addition to this metal cover there was a rubber 'flap' cover that looks like it went over the cluster of wire harness connectors. Purpose?
This photo shows the metal cover and in it I am holding the flap back.
When looking up the solenoid numbers I did come across several references for 'Calif' and 'exc. Calif' so wondered if that was the case. It was also a Catalyst truck which I really don't see many of around here. Wondering if the metal cover and rubber cover are worth grabbing to put on mine as a neat-to-have. Just not sure what purpose the rubber cover serves besides aesthetics over the mess of connectors.
