I believe you are to put the grease into the feamle side, down inside so when you click the male fitting in, you will have some come out.wipe off excess. Check youtube.

Even the YouTube videos contradict each other. The middle one says not to put it inside the female connector but up and around the outside and down the middle. Other videos glob it in there which the second video said not to do. I did view the second and third video and went with the second video recommendation before I started. The connections under the truck overlaps between the male and female significantly. I guess we will see how it turns out. If I need to turn on the country music, pop some beers and do it again, it will be just my luck.

I globbed it in there on the female side, but only after blowing out the connection with air and then hitting it with the CRC electronics cleaner. I bought the dielectric grease that has an aerosol nozzle. Much easier to use when under the truck and holding the connector with one hand.

Once you separate the connector[s], the pins are what the dielectric grease is for. As stated above, put some dielectric grease on your finger and rub it into the female side of the connector then plug the connector back together. Applying it as a gasket sealer may be ineffective.

I know this is a bit late to the party but...
i agree with just putting it in the female sockets.
Myself just put the tip of the tube on the female side and lightly filled each.
Reason not to just blob...
My buddie came over once with his chevy s10.
was real worried, every time he hit his brakes all his dash and running lights would come on.
Turned out his tail light bulb socket was blobed with Dielectric grease. And I'm guessing over the years it was holding moisture, and that was inside the tail light. Wiped it out and everything was fine.
sometimes to much is to much.
