Gearhead tv
Well I like to but since they have flooded the channel with reruns it is hard to figure out when a fresh one is on.
I like both shows but I think those dorky wwf type anouncers on Monster garage havn't done much for the show.
And don't you wish just once Paul jr. would "accidentally" give his old man an elbow in the chops rendering him unconcious for several minutes?
And what about the "budget" on M/G ? Isn't it kind of a joke since they get so much really cool free stuff, like they never have to pay for the tires and wheels which would consume the whole budget.
And why does Paul jr. always have to build a $150,000 show bike in just a week or so? What's up with all the deadlines for cripes sake. The kid is a talented artist, leave him alone and let him do his thing, pay a flunkie to pick up after the guy, he is creating masterpieces and has to stop to pick up garbage? Get a grip old man.
Isn't it pathetic what us gearheads have to put up with just to get a little shot of what turns our crank?
Well I still like both shows and watch them all the time, I just had to rant . I do have to switch off Jesse when things get a bit too satanic.
Diamond plate in the kitchen--yeehaaa! Had air hoses and water hoses hanging from the ceiling and a ceiling fan with radiator blades on it. Red toolboxes in the kitchen for drawer and a Honda hood that dropped down as part of a winch mechanism for a dining room table. (minus the Honda part that's pretty dang cool)
I just did not get that one bit. You could chop up some trashy junk yard el camino and get the same results. I guess they just did it to upset people and get ratings though.
It does seem on all these shows that there is always a deadline, oh no will they make it? Obviously it doesn't matter because we are gonna see the end anyways, right? As far as the budget on monster garage it does seem the fact that some groups get free products could or would in my opinion make it somewhat unfair. I did think it was odd they destroyed a nice el camino to make a figure 8 car. Couldn't they have used any mid to late 70's if not early 80's pile of crap car built by any automaker? They could have used a late 70 early 80 malibu, pretty good car given it was only intended to get the family from place to place, nice cheap car for drag racing so I would imagine it would make a nice car to destroy in a figure 8 race, or as mentioned there are many el caminios that fit into the years I listed that well don't really appeal to anyone. Who knows?
Looks like a new american chopper comes on monday so that is something to look forward too, by all the fans. I kinda get the show the old man pushes the son to make him not screw up his investment in the long run teaching him that in order to make something successful you have to go for it even if you could make an awsome $150,000 bike you still have to have it done in a reasonable time and the quality of workmanship has to be there. Not to mention its a business you should already be planning the next bike even before this one is done maybe even started. Maybe I come from another world or something, but is the old man on steroids or what because I have never seen someone with that much I will kick your *** attitude that cries so much?
I don't know if anyone watched american hot rod but that was a pretty good show. Are they gonna make it a series? Actually the show made me feel good these fellows have access to all the latest and greatest equipment and they can't start the car because they didn't put the rotor button in not to mention they couldn't keep it from overheating. Man I can imagine the gut feeling on both accounts, you just spend well over a 100,000 on custom body custom everything and the thing won't start, wait its the rotor button lets drive it oh no it just puked coolant all over the nice shiny accessories and painted frame, I bet there was a knot the size of a basketball in the fellow who is supposed to be in charge.
