On another note, wasn't a guy hanging from the frame of a moving vehicle to identify a noise a recipitant of the Darwin award one year?

Well when I pulled the t-case skid plate I found that my front shaft it has a c.v. at the top. When the shaft was off I took it to a shaft shop and he rotated it and said the insides of the c.v. were blown. He repaired it for 40 bucks and I put it back in and all is finally well.No more pops, grinding or noises. I drove it with the hubs locked with the shaft off and there were no noises-thank you Ryan-So it had to be the shaft anyhow. I greatly appreciate all your help and I have learned so much in this ordeal. I sure ought to have with all the money I spent.
