Dropped My Order - The Wait Begins
#16
After three weeks of Ford not scheduling orders for the holidays, they finally picked up my order this passed Thursday with a tentative build during the week of Jan 28th and delivery on March 2nd. I wasn't expecting the VIN to come with the scheduling but sure enough, it did. I understand all of the dates, including the VIN are tentative and liable to change either way, but it's nice to finally see some progress. Looking for that green window sticker next.

Looks like a nice spec sheet on the build. On the 176" WB you'll get the 48 gallon fuel tank which is great when towing. The 4.30 gears will also be nice for towing or if you ever go to taller tires. I had the camper package on a 2000 F250 and with the heavier springs it made the truck ride rough. I did have the Super Cab/short bed so that may have caused the rough ride. Good choice on the Ingot Silver because its easy to keep clean and hope you get the truck shortly...Congrats on a good choice!!
Thanks! I've read about the shipping delays so I'm certainly trying not to get too wrapped around that axle about the exact date of delivery.

Double check your sticker as soon as its available. Mine got built with 3.73's instead of 4.30's.Dealer re-ordered immediately, but it added another month to my wait. Ordered on 11/8 and the incorrect build is scheduled to deliver 12/26. hopefully the new order goes as quickly.

I own businesses and have seen extreme (considerably higher than inflation) cost increases in pickup truck prices from the usual suspects. One has to wonder just how much longer they can raise prices on pickup trucks -----in some cases double, triple and higher the inflation rate on other consumer items.
My underlying beef with the automakers is they're GOUGING PICKUP TRUCK BUYERS (me included) to subsidize Chinese, European, South American, etc car buyers -- where most of the Big Three lose money

Well today marks exactly one month since Ford accepted my order and the truck is on a train exactly 150 miles from my dealer in South Texas, much to our surprise. Truck was built on Jan 31st, released by the factory and rail loaded on Feb 3rd. Of course, while unlikely, it could take another 30 days to get to the dealer.
Assuming the pace continues, my only problem now is that I won't be able to pick it up until late March. We were planning on a 10-12 week order/build process, but the 4-5 week timeline has caught us a bit off guard. Good problem to have, though.
