Used camper top compatibility
Does anyone have any idea how close the fit would be for a camper shell from an ‘04 super duty to a ‘17 with the same bad length? I know the rear glass will not go outside of the tailgate. More wondering if the cab height and front of the topper will line up with the truck very well. I have a friend that will sell me one for $100 but I have to drive an hour to see if it fits at all. I wouldn’t have it in all the time but mostly for hunting and ice fishing trips.

I figured that would be the most likely case. I have read that most caps would work from 99-16 with minimal issues other than the tailgate shape. I haven’t been able to find anything on how different the ‘17s are from the ‘16 models though. I can’t come off the $$$ for a new cap that I don’t need more than a few times a year.

I recently found a top on Craigslist that was listed for a Ford F-250 up to 2016, but it was on a 2017. The gentleman confirmed it was an older model top that he used temporarily. He indicated that it wasn’t a perfect fit, but worked for his needs. I chose not to buy it because I’d want a perfect fit. Not sure if that helps, but figured I’d share.
